Holmes has scored 4 tries in 6 matches against the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have also been poor against the fullback position. Kyle Feldt gets a great match-up against the Bulldogs who have conceded 5 tries to the position this season. The best odds are at Lads/Neds.
Saturday 17th April
Manly, Gold Coast SGM, 2 Units. Minimum odds $3.80
AJ Brimson loves scoring against the Sea Eagles with 5 tries in 4 games. He gets a great matchup against a team that has been leaking tries to fullbacks. Corey Thompson has been in terrific form this season with 5 tries already. The Sea Eagles have also conceded 5 tries to Corey Thompson’s position so far this campaign. In the last 3 matches between these 2 teams, Manly has conceded 6 tries to the left-wing position. Topsport has the best odds for this one.
Rabbitohs Tigers SGM - 1.5 Units. Minimum odds $3.50
Both Johnston and Mitchell have terrific try-scoring records against the Tigers. The Tigers defence has been very questionable to begin the season, but the Rabbitohs are unlikely to blow them out completely today. The best odds are at Lads/Neds.
Raiders, Eels SGM - 0.5 Units, minimum odds $7.00.
Isaiah Papali’i has been in brilliant form since taking over the starting job at the Eels. He has scored in his last 2 games and has scored against Canberra in the past. We are predicting a low scoring match in this one, where the forwards should get a lot of goal-line work. The Eels have struggled to finish the games off in Canberra, so the alternate line here gives us a nice boost to the stakes. The best odds are at Sportsbet.
Friday 16th April
Kalyn Ponga started his season with a terrific try last week and is a guy who doesn’t mind a try against the Sharks. Ponga scored 3 tries against the Sharks last time they played and will be looking to build on that form. William Kennedy has been in terrific try-scoring form this season, scoring in 4 of the 5 games he has played in. Kennedy has taken a huge step up this season and will hopefully be a player that is in Fitzgibbons future plans. With all the media coverage in the Sharks coaching saga, the public has moved the Sharks line in a disproportionate way. We’re getting a nice boost to our SGM by adding this alternate line in. I found this multi at Lads/Neds Take down to $5.65 if betting elsewhere. 1.5 Units.
Jarome Hughes is paying well over the odds to score a try against the Roosters this week. Hughes scored 3 tries in 2 games against them last season and has 4 tries in 5 games against them when playing in the halves. Hughes has got on the scoreboard already this season and if his career stats are to go by, he is due for a second. The Roosters have conceded 2 tries to halves already this season, and are starting to look weaker through the middle. This game is traditionally a close-fought affair, and the only time a team has been blown out in the last 10 years was in 2016 when the Roosters only won 6 games. I found this bet at Lads/Neds, take $5.20 or better anywhere else. 1 Unit.
Thursday 15th April
Brian To’o is an absolute workhorse with a terrific try-scoring rate over his short career. To’o gets a very generous matchup and is on the end of the most dangerous wing in the NRL. Viliame Kikau has been in terrific try-scoring form so far this season with 4 tries already. The Broncos have struggled to stop left second rowers this season and it will be a stretch to stop anyone who plays between Luai and Burton. As good as the Panthers are I can’t see them beating the Broncos by 46 points or more. The Broncos always play slightly better at Suncorp and were getting a big boost by having the alternate handicap included in our SGM. I found this at Lads/Neds, but take $3.60 or better elsewhere. 2 Units.
