Race 4 - Standout Trifecta, $30 for 100% of Div
(6) Sixgun is coming back from a lengthy spell and has been gelded and trialed very smartly and has a class edge on these. Open race otherwise and looking for a bit of value to fill the trifecta spots for a decent profit to start our day.
Race 5 Trifecta - $30 for 50% of Div
(3) Gemmahra and (9) Azarmin will be battling for favourtism and rightfully so. Azarmin was close to a win last start an kept hitting the line well. Gemmahra is having a great prep currently with a win and a placing in 3 starts and commands respect in this midweek field. Once again after these two the field is fairly open and we will be cheering on some value in the back end of this trifecta!
Race 6 - Boxed Trifecta - $30 for 50% of div.
Even race this with a few chances. (3) Tiny is resuming from a spell and likes the going soft and should be hard to beat. (4) Nags to Riches (Scratched 5:24am) has 3 starts for 2 wins and 1 on heavy in a promising start to this filly’s career, the likely favourite. (6) Turnstyle is second up after a 3rd placing first up, leading chance. (9) Miss Spiteful, only a modest run first up but should be fitter for it like most Waterhouse horses, expect to run on. (10) Embeller won last start and winning form is good form, maps to be on speed, fitness no issue well into prep.
Note - 6 scratched, replace with 8.
Race 7 - Boxed Quinella - $20 for 200% of div
A quinella to finish the day in a very open race. All selections profile in a similar fashion with decent wet weather credentials.

Randwick 16th April
The top 4 in the market here are the top 4 for a reason. Montefilia’s main query is the distance, but Royal Randwick connections will fancy her chances with some rain around. NZ Oaks winner Amarelinha has made the trip over for her first start in Australia. The wetter, the better for a horse with seven starts and five wins in the slush! Personally, she is my top pick for this race, and I’ll have some on the nose. Hungry Heart was impressive with a win over Harmony Rose at the last start. A question mark the wetter this day may get but has the class and definitely a significant chance of top 3 and even winning this race. Harmony Rose perhaps looked the winner with 400 to go, but Hungry Heart flew home late to steal the victory. Harmony Rose has never missed a placing and is a must in all multiples.
The Chosen One is on its very, very last chance with me here, but a placing would suffice in this instance, and it does have the class where a win wouldn’t surprise, and that would also be great for us! Spirit Ridge was brave last start but did tire late with the weight on its back. A wet track brings him into calculations here, and blinkers are off too. The first start from the UK was a success and beat some smart horses, but this is another step. It is an excellent sign when a UK horse comes over here and wins its first start, though, do rate. She’s Ideal is my top pick in this race, and, ideally, she drops 7 kilos off her back after the second placing to SIr Dragonet, never missed a placing in the wet. The Realm of flowers was second to the above mentioned UK Rader and had a little less weight on its back this time around. Although I think Realm of flowers is a legit chance and likes the wet, I still feel she will be fighting for a minor placing in this but has an edge on many other horses in this race.
